It is hard to discern the firetruck in this dark and blurry picture. This was the last of three emergency vehicles that made a slow and noisy three-point-turn in the narrow streets of 9th court on Wednesday night around midnight. They had responded to a call for assistance from the resident in 3501. He had discovered that a propane tank on his back porch had ruptured and was leaking gas uncontrollably. He reluctantly called emergency responders when he was unable to get help through non-emergency contacts due to the time of day. They over-responded with a hazmat truck and two full firetrucks. The gas was released without incident and the resident was apologetic to neighbors for disturbing the calm. The noise was actually relatively low and short-lived, but the resident's sensitivity to his neighbors was appreciated. Oh yeah, and we are all especially grateful that the building did not catch on fire! :-)
