Community Lighting

From the Property Management Office:
Six additional lights poles have been installed in front of build 26 (West side of neighborhood, adjacent to Cleary Blvd).  This is "adhering to the "candlelight" rule of city of Plantation."

Information From Plantation City Utilities About Our Water Bills

New Water and Sanitary Sewer Rates Have Been Implemented to Encourage Water Conservation - "Phase 2 Water Conservation Rates" are now in Effect

With my latest utilities bill I got a flyer that included information about water usage.   More complete information is available at the Plantation City website.

From the Plantation City Website:

City Inspectors

Apparently a city inspector has been through the neighborhood and has given yellow cards, or tickets, or notices of violation to many people in our neighborhood.  It has been rumored that as many as 180 notices were handed out for building code violations regarding garages and screened porches, etc.

The city of Plantation permitting requirements are fairly broad (click here for more details).  I personally know one TAJ family that had remodeled their kitchen and then were required to obtain permits after the city discovered the change.  Another found himself having to obtain engineering plans, make sturctural changes, and pay a fine in order to obtain a permit for a porch that he had constructed onto the back of his unit.  I had to obtain a city permit just to resurface my front and back patios with pavers.

Garage or Family Room?

Recently a flyer has been circulated by the TAJ Association, asking owners to notify the management office (954-472-2283) if their garage is one of those that has not been converted into an interior living space.  Many of the garages in our community have been changed into a family room, or den, etc, by placing a floor and interior wall.  In most conversions there is a five to six foot storage area remaining behind the garage door and the interior wall.
