A neighbor estimated that it was about a 5-6 foot gator. It circled around a few times, eye-balling all the people standing around staring at it. Maybe it was hoping for food, maybe it was just out for a swim, maybe it was lost. I called Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 1-866-FWC-GATOR (866-392-4286) and left a message. When they called back the next day the gator was gone.
