The New Format

The TAJwatch blog has a new format.  Google's Blogger calls it "Dynamic Views" because the viewers are easily able to change how the posts are displayed by clicking on a selection from the drop-down menu that is found in the upper left hand corner of this page, just under the Blog Title.  The different looks have functional value, as some make it easier to glance through past posts, while others show pictures better, etc.

Also, don't forget that there is a search field in the upper right hand corner of the page.  Enter a search term there and watch the blog respond -- especially when it is in "flipcard" format.

Across the top of the page, underneath the Blog Title, there are words that represent different pages.  The pages are HOME, WELCOME, MANAGEMENT OFFICE INFORMATION, MAPS OF TAJ, and  USEFUL LINKS.  Select a page and you will see different information provided to you.  Click on HOME to return to the posts.

One draw-back of the new format is that "widgets" and "gadgets" no longer work.  All the links that used to be on the sidebar of the previously formatted blog are no longer there.  However, you can find some of those same links (the most useful ones, in my opinion) through the USEFUL LINKS page.

New Feature Translates This Blog Into Spanish, Etc

You will notice in the upper left hand corner of this page is a button that will allow users to translate this page into any of a number of different languages. To translate this page into "Spanish" simply click on "Espanol" and the change happens almost instantly. To return to English, click the link at the very top of the page that says "View original web page."

I hope this will help those in our community that do not speak English to feel more included.

On The Blog

“Blog” is a shortened version of “Web Log.” Blogs typically provide news and/or commentary on a particular subject.

TAJWatch.blogspot.com is a blog that I started in August 2007. My idea was to share with other TAJ residents what information I might have and also to create a kind of permanent record of certain matters. There are many pictures of the construction work in progress. I try to take a few pictures of each building while it is under construction to help us remember what they looked like and when they were renovated. Sometimes the pictures are very informative about the extent of damage to trusses, etc. Sometimes the pictures are just pleasant, like the view of Building 1 from University Ave after they got a new roof (posted Nov 3rd, 2007), or any of the buildings after they get painted.

I have also created a color-coded map to show the progress of construction in the whole community, and I try to keep it updated.

There are also pictures of the maintenance men and their names on the blog. If you do not have a chance to meet them in person you can still see who they are that way.

The Association has its own very good website. My blog is not meant to replace or compete with it in any way. My blog is simply a forum to share information, pictures, and opinions in the hope of improving the quality of our lives.
