Another year, and another Board of Directors (BOD) election approaches in March. The management office has sent out forms to be filled out to Certify a voter from each unit and also for those that wish to be a Candidate for the thankless office of BOD member.
It is noteworthy that to be a candidate for the BOD you must first fill out the form and submit it to the management office at Friday January 27th by 5pm. There is no deadline mentioned for Voter Certification form submission.
Included in the Candidacy form is a little gem of a paragraph about certain things that would disqualify a person from candidacy. One of the sentences is:
"Pursuant to Florida Statutes Section 7I8.I12, a person who has been
suspended or removed as an Officer or Director by the Division under the Florida Condominium Act, or who is delinquent in the payment of any monetary obligation to the Association, such as a fee, fine, or special or regular assessment, is not eligible for board membership."
So there is that.
