According to the flyer below (distributed by the TAJ Management Office) all BOD positions are open in the upcoming election. Beth G (office manager) reported that only six candidates had submitted their paperwork. Does that mean that those six candidates will be seated unopposed in the coming election? And will the seventh vacancy be filled by appointment or by a general election?

Wendi Hill did not put in her paperwork so does that mean she is not running this time?
ReplyDeleteIn the latest mailing from the office it was written that only four seats were up for election this year, contrary to what they had previously stated. I do not know why there is a change. At this time Wendi, Carol, and Mark are remaining on the Board of Directors and the other four seats are being filled through an election.
ReplyDeleteAccording to our By-Laws (see your copy on your website) Section 4; 4.4, we have the staggered terms rule already. Therefore, by the Fla. statute you quoted, the vote should not be necessary.
ReplyDeleteAnd since this is already in effect it seems to mean that Wendi, Mark and Carol do not have to run again this year.
Also FYI: At the last BOD meeting, there were some votes taken on violations for paving of “ common property” areas and towing of vehicles (notice now to be given instead of instant towing in some instances). You might want to get those and post for the residents. Sorry, I did not write them down when voted on.
