The TAJ office recently sent email notifications and posted on the official TAJ website news of the up-coming election on August 18th, and the meet-the-candidates night on August 11th at 7:30pm.
There has also been some information come to light about a change in the 2008 Florida Statutes. Apparently a unit owner cannot serve on the Board of Directors if they are overly delinquent in paying a Special Assessment, monthly maintenance fee, or any kind of fee:"A person who has been suspended or removed by the division under this chapter, or who is delinquent in the payment of any fee or assessment as provided in paragraph (n), is not eligible for board membership." see 718.112(2)(d)1
"(n) Director or officer delinquencies.--A director or officer more than 90 days delinquent in the payment of regular assessments shall be deemed to have abandoned the office, creating a vacancy in the office to be filled according to law." see 718.112 (2)(n)

ReplyDeletequestion,why didn`t the office send candidates letters in with notice of meet the candidates night. people need to read these so they can get an idea where / what the candidate position is. in order to generate questions. THIS SAME MISTAKE/AGENDA was done last illegal election. not to mention duplication and waste of labor $$$ to redeliver same.
